Yvon and I went to Munich as the first leg of our MittelEurope tour in September, 2002. We had glorious weather, and explored the city carefully. I remember many ornate buildings surrounded by parklike settings, yet for all its evident wealth and liveability, I enjoyed Munich less than other German cities I have visited. It seemed to lack the edge that others do. Looking over these photos, though, it's obviously quite pretty.

Schwaig and the airport (12 photos) - In 2012, on our way back from Munich, we had trouble with our flights and had to divert to Munich, staying overnight in a hotel near the airport. To our surprise, the hotel we stayed in was in a small town that actually had some charm, called Schwaig. We wandered the town a little bit before going to bed for the night. Here are a few photos of Schwaig, and a few of the airport.
