London Map
Growing up in eastern Ontario,
anything west of Toronto was terra incognita to me until I moved to
Toronto in 1990. Gregg had family in London and we visited them a number of
times in the early 1990's, until I refused to go any more. I remember
Gregg's sister asking us "who was the woman in the relationship?" and that
was that. The only time I was in London for an extended period was in 1999
for an Association of Canadian Archivists conference. I spent time at the
conference and in bars, and Yvon joined me in the evening on Friday, we
explored the city a bit on Saturday before going back to Toronto.
Most of the photos in this gallery are
from a visit to London in 2016 as part of my CMA documentation drive. We
stayed the night and went to the bar and had quite a nice time people
watching on the rooftop patio. It was quite hot on both days and I found the
city pleasant enough, but somehow underwhelming.

London
with Yvon in 2016 (172 photos)
- These photos were taken on an overnight visit to London in June 2016. They
are mostly downtown, in a big circle starting with the Covent Garden Market, moving
along Dundas Street (with some diversions) east towards the cluster of highrises around Dundas and Wellington, and then up towards Victoria Park,
back towards the Forks of the Thames and ending at Harris Park. The gallery
ends with some photos of Western University.

London
with Yvon in 1999 (6 photos)
- These photos show mostly me, and sometimes shirtless, in parks around
London that were taken at the end of the ACA conference.
-
Gregg with
his siblings in London (1 photo)
- One photo (in London, but it could be anywhere) of Gregg with his
siblings, from July 1991. I did not visit with Gregg's
family very often and I never got the feeling that they were that fond of
me.

South of
London in 2016 (40 photos)
- After our overnight stay in London, we drove around south of the city.
This gallery is mostly of St. Thomas and Port Stanley,
though there are also a few photos that are a bit farther afield.
