Map of
South-East Australia
Yvon and I drove from Sydney to
Melbourne during our visit to Australia in 2001, spending three nights along the way. The first night was in a
lovely guest house in the Blue Mountains, which was more luxurious that we
were used to. I was quite sick that night. The second night we spent in the
capital city, Canberra. The third night was in some forgettable town in
Victoria, on the way to Melbourne.

Canberra (10 photos) -
We did not stay a long time in Canberra, we toured the city quickly and
left. We visited the then-recently-completed Parliament House, went up the
Telstra Tower, and checked out the Australian War Memorial. I do recall
that went out to a bar at night, and Yvon got skunky beer, and that I was
horrified by the planned nature of this instant capital city.

The
Blue Mountains, and other countryside along the way (25 photos)
- These photos mostly show the blue mountains, but also capture a few
other shots from the countryside between Sydney and Melbourne. They were
taken both before and after our stay in Canberra, though only the last
five were taken after Canberra.
